On the second day of the New Moon on the 2nd July 2011 we can look at the Tarot Cards of New beginnings. As the Fool (you the seeker) sets out on his quest he meets his first teachers who are his spiritual parents. These are the Magician and the High Priestess.
The Magician numbered 1 is the second card of the Major Arcana as the Fool is numbered 0 (see yesterday’s blog). The Magician stands for the intellect, learning and the open enquiring mind. He has the material equipment and practical skills necessary for a very important new beginning to be successful. Today is a time for action using the abundance of potential, creativity, skill and initiative that will drive you to achieving your dreams. All the equipment is there for new ventures to be assured. You have a great reserve of power, intellect and energy; it’s now up to you to make your dreams happen.
The High Priestess is the divine feminine, feminine mystery, intuition, insight and the subconscious. She is the Spiritual wisdom, balance and power necessary for mental growth and fulfilment. She represents the power of the subconscious, your wisdom and as yet unfulfilled potential. She also represents secrets that are yet to be revealed, often in dreams.
Combining the power of the Magician and the High Priestess with the Aces and Twos of the minor arcana gives us a deeper insight into the Fools journey. Aces are successful new beginnings. The Two’s are about balance and equilibrium.
At the beginning of the New Moon consider these qualities when choosing your new path. Ensure you have the tools you need and listen to your gut. Answers will come from your dreams most strongly with the burgeoning Moon.
Keeping a dream diary is a powerful tool at any time. You may want to start a dream diary today. Keep a note book and pen next to your bed. When you wake from a dream write down your impressions, don’t dwell on it, make a quick note and scribble a drawing if you wish. At the end of the weekand again at the end of the month read through your note book, you’ll be amazed what comes from it. I also keep a Dictaphone with me during the day and when my thoughts drift I often have an idea I need to capture, this is a quick and easyway of doing this. Let me know how it goes. Sweet dreams!
